Originally from the Landes region of France, bandas are travelling brass bands that play at street festivals and ferias, as well as accompanying the running of the bulls, a bullfighting tradition that is deeply rooted in the Gers and Landes regions and inherited from Spain. These brass and percussion ensembles are an integral part of the cultural fabric of the Gers during major festivals such as bandas and ferias, where they bring the festayres into the bars and streets of the towns.
