Gers gastronomy

The Gers is largely renowned for its culinary delights: an agricultural department, the Gers is particularly prized for its poultry farms, which raise ducks, geese, black hens and turkey. The department is one of the major producers of foie gras for the festive season, and also stands out for its specialities such as magret de canard, confit de canard, garbure gasconne and poule au pot.
